WONDERFUL WEDNESDAY

The article posted by Fairhope Times that was reposted on Ripp Report resulted in many people taking issue with my innuendo, ”The Governor had a special assistant, just saying” was radically misunderstood by some folks. Some took it as having a sexual connotation and even brought up adultery. My reference to the governor assistant was — look at the trouble he has heaped on himself and his assistant. He has yet to be charged with anything. Take your minds out of the gutter.

DEMAND THE TRUTH

Complaint Statement: July 7, 2016 State of Alabama Ethics Commission First let me say I have taken your online ethics course and it is pretty clear that elected officials should not be engaging in municipal contracts in their districts, particularly if said contract directly and positively contributes to the direct income of that official. Mr. Hubbard has just been convicted for doing the exact thing. Senator Pittman has maintained debris removal contracts with the city of Fairhope since 2004, except for one period where his business partner Bob James held the contract. Mr. Pittman and the Mayor of Fairhope has been subject of BP fraud investigation. The FBI conducted an investigation and that investigation is now in the hands of special prosecutor for the Alabama Attorney General's office, Mr. Matt Hart. During the FBI investigation Mr. Pittman admitted that it was poor judgement on his part and that he would not in the future obtain contracts from his district or constituents. He broke that promise and again bid on Fairhope debris removal contracts. He supported his efforts by producing a letter from the Ethics Commission rendering an opinion. That letter was an opinion based on Ethics Commission rules; however the Mayor of Fairhope said the letter was permission for the Senator to go ahead. Everything was legal. That is not what the letter stated. The Mayor and Senator have also said the Ethics Commission has exonerated them of any guilt relating to the BP Fraud claim, again untrue.

4th of July

Have a great 4th of July weekend! Remember the brave soldiers fighting for our freedom and the veterans this holiday.

THERE ARE MORE OF US THAN THEM

US are the taxpayers and honest citizens; THEM are the good ole boys. In the last Fairhope election, only 5500 people voted in the city elections, of those Mayor Kant “questionably” received 3026 votes. Only 30% to 35% of the registered voters voted, leaving 65 to 70% not voting at all. These are the voters who can stop the mayor’s corruption and end an era of good ole boys who are fleecing taxpayers right and left. The mayor’s base has shrunk and public confidence in the mayor is virtually nonexistent. Several mayoral candidates are planning to run against the mayor; however, they believe it to be prudent to announce their candidacy closer to the qualification date. Look closely at the statistics. They favor US. A neighborhood like Rock Creek can swing the election. If Sandy Ford, Plantation Pines and the Woodlands jump on board, a new Fairhope will be born.

INVESTIGATIVE REPORTING

For those who don’t know the details how Mayor Kant and Senator Pittman got caught up in BP Fraud, please read the articles attached. Connie “the Hachette” Baggett broke the story wide open with her November 20, 2010 article from al.com. Senator's company awarded $639,000 while he supervised grants for boom work - al.com Of $1.15 million paid to Fairhope from BP grant funds overseen in part by state Sen. Trip Pittman for oil spill response work, the city awarded Pittmans company $639,000, according to city records reviewed by a Fairhope councilwoman.

POLITICAL INTIMIDATION

Fairhope is the core of corruption in Baldwin County and Mayor Kant is the spokesman. Mayor Kant has raised over 50,000 dollars for a mayor’s election in a community of 16,000 people. That’s the first red flag. Over 50% of the mayor’s donations come from donors living outside Fairhope and unidentified PACs. That should alarm every citizen in Fairhope. The mayor is suspected of rigging the last two elections and he has now put in motion his FIX for the upcoming election. First we will see puppet candidates solicited by the mayor to run for Council seats. Former Mayor Jim Nix's son is going to run for Councilmen Ford's position. This is one good ole boy for another and most people in Fairhope don’t know that Jim Nix is a major player in the good ole boy club and management of Kant. Fairhope is a hand-me-down government. Nix handed it to Kant and Kant will pick his successor, NOT the citizens of Fairhope. It is rumored that Sherry Sullivan, a companion on many of Kant’s out of town trips, and Lee Turner are two of Kant’s choices for his replacement. Mr. Kant says this is his last term. But remember, if his lips are moving, he is lying. Mr. Jay Robinson is running for Mr. Mueller's seat. I suspect Mueller will not run for re-election but will wait until the last minute to announce it. Mr. Robinson voted for the apartments at Fly Creek and against the wishes of the community, a sign that he too may be in Kant’s pocket.

GAME ON MAYOR KANT HUBBARD GOES DOWN, YOU’RE NEXT

Originally the Ripp Report was local information about Fairhope politics. The idea came about due to the lack of honest information coming from Fairhope city hall, the mayor in particular. That was over 10 years ago, nothing has changed. Facebook then became our social media site which spawned Baldwin County Legal Eagle. To expand our Gmail connection the blog site The Ripp Report will be available. All of these forums will work together to maximize exposure.

FAIRHOPE A CITY OWNED BY OUTSIDE INTERESTS & GOOD OLE BOYS

The Ripp Report/ Baldwin County Legal Eagle FAIRHOPE A CITY OWNED BY OUTSIDE INTERESTS & GOOD OLE BOYS A lot of people witnessed the corruption involved with the approval of the Fly Creek Apartments. This was a wakeup call for many citizens that had heard about the corrupt ways of the mayor. Mayor Kant and his sidekick Arthur Corte have cost Fairhope dearly, in money and quality of life. The decisions they are making exclude US and only benefit them. The apartments are only a part of a much more thought out plan between Kant, Corte and the good ole boys. The decisions they are making are not coming before the public, until the deal is done or close to done then the Mayor will elude that it was a city plan all along.

FREAKY FRIDAY IN A FREAKY COUNTY May 20 2016 The Ripp Report/Baldwin County Legal Eagle Driving Under the Influence - A SOURCE OF STEADY INCOME...for Whom? One thing you can count on in Baldwin County is someone getting busted for a DUI. Our county’s alcohol consumption is greater than any county in Alabama. We entertain tourists with a selection of bars restaurants, hotels, malls, clubs and events that serve alcohol. Municipalities commonly permit social events allowing the sale of alcohol. You can buy wine beer or the hard stuff anywhere in Baldwin County within a 10 minute drive. The amount of income from alcohol sales in Baldwin County and the number of people it employs is staggering. Alcohol is ACCEPTABLE; the negative aspects support yet another industry, the judiciary.
