A shovel digs into soil, symbolizing delays in Fairhope’s government election shift now joining the Nov. 6 ballot

BURY THE BODY

Last week, I knew that the Fairhope City Council was going to do what ever was necessary to stop the Oct. 2 2018 vote, to change the Government in Fairhope. The Council instructed the City Attorney, aka Council Attorney, to find any loophole he could to delay the election, he did as they instructed. The vote now will join the general election ballot, Nov. 6th 2018. The Council has already started blaming the City Clerk and the Mayor. The Council however accepts, no blame, accountability, nor embarrassment. They are an at large Council and have deep roots within Catalyst. In the coming weeks you will come to understand that the Fairhope City Council represents the last vestiges of the King Kant Kingdom, aka Catalyst or quite simply The Good Ole Boys. On Nov. 6th Fairhope can decide to go backwards or forwards.

FAIRHOPE COUNCIL SHOWS IT'S COLORS

The present Fairhope City Council is going to try and pull every dirty trick they can to derail the Oct. 2nd election. The City Attorney is carrying out the Catalyst Council’s instructions as we speak. The City Attorney is and has been representing the City Council, not the citizens of Fairhope and not the Mayor. Stay tuned for an update later. The Ripp Report has hired an attorney to represent the constituents the council is ignoring and hopes to be able to provide some clarity to the Council’s recent, today’s, actions.

CATALYST PANIC and CONFUSION

The Catalyst Fairhope Council may be in it’s last days. The Council and the council’s legal representative has been asleep at the wheel. Instead of checking out all the legal ramifications of a change of government they selected to remain silent on the matter. They got bad advise and thought the decisions were that of the council and they were in control. WRONG the citizens are in control and Catalyst is worried.

HELL YEA

FAIRHOPE CHANGE OF GOVERNMENT The Fairhope City Council is on a roundabout and doesn’t know where to exit. The present Council is an “at Large” council, they are not going to vote for change. A YES vote for a change of government allows for 3 district council persons and the Mayor and one council person being “at large. This should satisfy both camps as a compromise, but not the good ole boy council.

FAIRHOPE - CATALYST a Dirty Little Secret

The Fairhope City Council is an “at Large” elected Council. Each of the members of the Council is deeply connected to the machine named for now, Catalyst; some by blood. The present council was hand-picked for the last election by the former Mayor, Tim Kant. They were a slate of Catalyst candidates, who had pledged their loyalty to Tim; who lost to Mayor Karin Wilson when we demanded the head of the legal division for the Elections Department drove down and oversaw the election, allowing for the first legitimate election in decades.
Citizens raising fists in solidarity against local government overreach in Baldwin County

CITIZENS FIGHTING BACK

Baldwin County is changing, for the better, when it comes to public participation and citizens standing up to local municipal governments who have traditionally run roughshod over it’s own citizens. In the past small municipalities in Baldwin County did “their own thing”, when it came down to running city government. Mayors and Councils, sometime just the Mayor or just the council, would bully issues and controversial projects, through the process of approval, crying all the time to the citizens, that their was nothing they could do.

CROSS THE LINE

Mid-Term elections are less than 60 days away. Is Baldwin County going to elect the Catalyst good ole boy, who is bought and paid for, just because he is republican? That is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different outcome, that’s insanity.
