LAGNIAPPE

This is an endorsement not an advertisement. By that I mean no one is paying the Ripp Report to endorse Lagniappe. Lagniappe has become the only publication that is not considered a coupon paper. The Mobile paper has little to offer with more fluff stories than real investigative reporting. The Sunday Paper is $3.00, over $150.00 a year just for Sunday. Lagniappe recently set up a pay-wall for on line subscribers. Trouble is that all those people who were sharing and reading posts on line now have to pay or get a paper copy. The Ripp Report shares many articles from Lagniappe and since the pay wall has been in effect, many of our readers have complained that they cannot link onto the article.

MEGA-MISTAKE

You are going to have to get a free Lagniappe or pay to go on line to read this story. It is obvious that Baldwin County has a media drain. Lagniappe and the Ripp Report appear to be the only sources willing to report news. There is other media but the articles published are “fluff” or so mundane and lacking of any back story, that the reader can make little sense out of the content.

THE JESTER

The Jester is back and now he wants to give away 106 acres of municipal land to Weeks Bay. The very same Jester who used his elected position for personal gain by securing the Fairhope Art Center Contract. The same Jester who favored the Fly Creek Apartments and it’s developer over his constituents. FAIRHOPE JESTER AND FLY CREEK - Ripp Report The Fairhope Jester supports the Kant-Corte Apartments on Fly Creek, at the same time he is building his own home on Fly Creek. Surely you jest! The …

GOLD MINE FOR SALE

The Fairhope Conservation Easement is in limbo while Weeks Bay and the city council, does damage control. Let me make it clear that there is nothing wrong with conservation easements. The Fairhope Conservation Easement that is proposed is a political football being thrown around by the City Council. It is an excuse by special interests, developers, that want the property out of the control of the city. The property in question is prime property in the Fairhope municipal city limits, that cost us 13 million.

State Senator Chris Elliott holds his passport, linked to a bill for travel expenses and potential political leverage

PASSPORT TO PARIS

State Senator Chris Elliott, aka TAX MAN, needs tax money to travel, so he co-sponsored a bill for his travel expenses. The newly elected State Senator is rumored to have used the proposed travel expenditure to strong arm other legislators, by holding up other bills being considered. It is not nice to piss off Goat Hill, especially when your a lamb. An extra bonus for the TAX MAN is the air miles he will accumulate, and you can be assured he will use them for future travel.
BALDWIN COUNTY MUNICIPAL ALERT - MUNICIPAL CONSERVATION EASEMENT

BALDWIN COUNTY MUNICIPAL ALERT - MUNICIPAL CONSERVATION EASEMENT

In Fairhope, a conservation easement involving city property has become an issue for the entire county, all 14 municipalities. A conservation easement in a municipality is radically different than one in rural or coastal areas. In a municipality you have limited land and at the rate of growth our county is experiencing, why would a municipality give away control and management to a third party? Municipal land should remain municipal land and any transfer of land, or management, should be voted on by the citizens of the community.
Petition form with a red pen, representing Fairhope residents urging city council for public participation in land use dec...

FAIRHOPE PETITION

If you live in Fairhope this petition is of great importance to you and your family. All the petition is asking of the City Council is not to dispose of any city property until the scheduled land use plan and comprehensive plan is completed. The second thing the citizens ask is to be a part of the decision. The Council and Weeks Bay have attempted to go around public participation. That is not the way a democracy works.
