In Alabama politicians and elected officials will always go dark, rather than being transparent, when they have something to hide. Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall is the worst Alabama Attorney General appointed in the last 50 years. He has done little for the state of Alabama since his appointment by Love Gov, Bentley. Complaints filed with the Attorney General fall into black holes, with little or no response from the A.G. The A.G. is commonly referred to as “Always Gone”.
From Tallassee to Brookside we cover it all. And "get-fitt'd" is the word of the week.... for that ankle monitor Baldwin County. Give it a watch and see if your favorite "black eye" politician or project gets a mention. And SARS-COV-2 is almost unavoidable at this point. Baldwin County Seeks Public Input on Land Use Plan According to a news release today, the Baldwin County Commission’s Planning and Zoning Department, along with consultants from Design Workshop, will kick off countywide long-range land use planning process this month, and will hold a series of related public meetings. The process will be used to update the existing land use plan and is only for zoned areas of the county. Land use plans are required by law in Baldwin County.
The good ole boys in Fairhope won the last election and were successful in electing a Mayor and Council that were willing to embrace development and return to the old “corrupt” way of doing business. The municipal attorney is old school and the municipal judge is a major developer in Fairhope. You can thank Catalyst, aka Scott Boone Consulting for this cast of characters. Jack Burrell has been the puppet for developers and special interest groups since first elected. For almost 9 years, Jack was president of the council. His involvement in the Fairhope Airport Authority has been a cluster f— from day one. In March of last year, he canceled the video online broadcast of the Airport Authority meetings to the public. I knew then he was up to some kind of B.S.
Baldwin County is spinning out of control. Development in Fairhope and Daphne are under a building moratorium. Spanish Fort is in panic mode about a proposed apartment development, within the vicinity of the new School, with a potential of 300 new students. Both communities, for decades, ignored infrastructure and promoted development. Now they are faced with slowing down development to catch up on infrastructure. That is poor planning and a failure of the politicians.
58.6 Million infected in the USA with SARS-COV-2 with 834,321 deaths, 2,000 new cases in Baldwin County this week alone. The Omicron variant is rampant in Alabama with UAB projecting a long January for our health care workers. And yes it's that time of year again Baldwin County, qualifying deadlines loom for the local and state offices of District Attorney, Sheriff, A Circuit Judge Place, 4 County Commission Seats, The Alabama Senate and Alabama State House are January 28, 2022. Murray "Bubba" Lawrence Jr has been in Holman Prison since his conviction for the 2003 murder of Brandon Hastings... the hitch is our current DA (Robert Wilters) was the Judge on the case and the current Sheriff (Huey Mack) was the lead investigator; needless to say there are obstacles (other than that obvious) related to this case.
Fairhope, aka Fauxhope, last municipal election fell prey to the political cabal, Catalyst, now branded as Scott Boone Consulting. They did a bang up good job for the special interests, developers and political candidates, they selected and supported. Mayor Sherry Sullivan has been their darling since Tim Kant was Mayor. Sherry, upon winning the position was rewarded with the additional position of utility director, along with that came a second paycheck from the city. The same model former Mayor Tim Kant followed.
The Alabama Judicial Canons are the baseline ethics that Alabama Judges are suppose to abide by. In Baldwin County the Canons have NO powder, because there is no accountability. Canon 2: “avoid impropriety and the appearance of impropriety in all his activities”. Would it appear to be improper to be appointed as a judge, who is a developer, and then the same council that appointed him, approves the judge/developer’s, development plans?
From the ill fated Alabama Port Authority "wetlands habitat/spoilage disposal" to allegations of a boat accident coverup by the City of Fairhope Police Department for a prominent Judge, Gambling America's Amazon (Alabama Power Company's cap-in-place of million of tons of Coal Ash in the Delta), the amphibious boat landing assault caught on video related to a local football coach (not guilty btw), a bridge battle at the beach, a mullet bonanza, and an initiative to protect a 10,000 year old cypress forest 30 miles offshore in 50 feet of water...this podcast has it all.
Alabama has earned it’s reputation as the most corrupt state in the United States. What solidifies Alabama’s position is a perfect puzzle, all tightly fit together with inept, lazy, hypocritical elected officials and oversight agencies. These agencies cost taxpayers millions for absolutely nothing. The Attorney General, Ethics Commission and Bar Association have earned a reputation of “protecting” it’s fellow inept, hypocritical allies, that are accused of political corruption. The FBI and the Federal Courts deserve a piece of the puzzle for turning a blind eye, or maybe not even opening their eyes and reading what is being published. Compound this sad state of affairs and then add in the police state mentality, which is, “Police do no wrong and should never be held accountable.” This tight little puzzle of no accountability, no transparency and no ethics, is why Alabama is the most corrupt state in the United States.
